Gustav Klimt was very fond of fashion. Especially the fashion revolution based on the work of the Wiener Werkstätte and the Reform dress, a long flowing gown, enabling women to move freely and banning the girdle, were for Klimt a symbol to support the freedom of women. He mainly depicted very confident women.
